This video describes the experiences of a number of veterans as they work through a recovery program on a wolf rescue ranch. The program pairs a veteran with PTSD with an injured wolf, and the veteran works to bring that wolf back to health. They build a bond of friendship and trust that helps both of them heal from their wounds, whether physical or emotional.
This video shows how this program allows soldiers to overcome their emotional scars from war through a natural process of connection and caring. Traditional methods of therapy often do not work for soldiers because of the severity of the emotional injuries and the stigma associated with traditional methods of therapy. The wolf-rescue program allows these veterans to heal in a more natural and dignified setting, by giving them purpose and allowing them to make emotional bonds with the animals. This video demonstrates the power of giving as part of the healing process.
