Mesmerizing Tribute

In 2012 The Kennedy Center paid tribute to Led Zeppelin, a band that rocked the airways and concert halls from the late sixties through the seventies. A  moving piece was Ann and Nancy Wilson’s Stairway to Heaven performance, which is Led Zeppelin’s trademark song.
Fans and family, andthe surviving membersof the iconic band looked on with tears forming in their eyes as the Wilson sisters, formerly of the band Heart, nailed the song with Ann’s precision vocals and Nancy’s guitar talent made it a night to remember.
Cover versions, even during tributes to the original artists, often fall short of expectations when they try too hard to spin their own style into the song. Ann and Nancy Wilson brought their own flavor to the vocals and guitar, without attempting to outshine the brilliance of Led Zeppelin. Although they are both over fifties, the former Heart members still look quite gorgeous and perform with the same vigoras during their heyday in the eighties.
