British comedian James Corden has settled in well as host of the Late Late Show on CBS, and his “Carpool Karaoke” segment is especially popular. The Stevie Wonder Carpool Karaoke edition was hilarious.
They start off with Corden in the passenger seat, questioning whether it’s safe for Stevie Wonder – who is blind – to drive. They joke around, with Wonder making fun of Corden’s British accent, before switching seats, and then they begin to pump out some of Wonder’s greatest hits.
The pair rock along to “Superstition” as they drive around Los Angeles, and there are plenty of funny moments along the way as they chat together. James then says his wife didn’t believe that he was actually meeting Stevie, so they decide to ring her up. Wonder puts on his British accent again before singing to her down the phone.
After fooling around with Stevie’s harmonica, he and James mull over starting their own band, called the “Wondercats”, with the idea of creating new lyrics for all of Wonder’s best songs. They looked like they had a great time doing the carpool together, and the audience loved it too.
